ERPNext case studies and upgrade notes

What clients got from ERPNext, written up from projects by Havenir Solutions, a certified ERPNext partner listed on frappe.io, plus what breaks on upgrades.

  • IRC Dairy makes mozzarella, butter, desi ghee and whey powder in Faisalabad and sells them to food businesses in Pakistan and abroad. It moved from NetSuite to ERPNext, and its buying, stores, production, sales, accounts and payroll now run in one system.

  • Metro Tech Pipe Industries makes ERW steel pipes in Lahore. It moved from QuickBooks to ERPNext nine major versions ago and runs a version Frappe supports today. Pipes are counted in pieces, priced by weight or by length and weighed before they leave, and ERPNext was extended to work the same way.

  • TJ Switches makes cables in Pakistan and assembles switches and lights from imported parts, then sells them through dealers across the country. Production, purchasing, dealer sales, collections and payroll for its Lahore and Islamabad sites now run in one ERPNext.

  • Radiant Medical imports medical equipment, wins most of its work through tenders, and installs and maintains what it sells. Tender, sales, import, stock, accounts and support teams now work from the same records in ERPNext, from the first bid to the last service visit.

  • The owner of a medical equipment importer set up ERPNext himself and wanted it checked. Two sessions, about three hours in total, closed an issue with his web shop and one with purchase taxes.

  • KKR handles traffic, fuel-theft and cyber-harassment claims in Austria. It needed one place where clients register cases, attorneys work them and staff coordinate both, with each role seeing only its own cases. The project was contracted through Havenir Solutions GmbH in Bremen and delivered in English.

  • QuickSolutions repairs, buys and sells smart devices in Belgium. It needed one system for repair jobs, sales, purchasing and stock, with online payments and shipping built in. Havenir Solutions ran the ERPNext implementation, including a repair portal now used by 23,000+ customers.

  • Frappe supports only the two latest ERPNext versions. A system left behind stops getting fixes, and every year it waits adds another version to the jump. This is what has broken on our real upgrades, and how we plan one.
